Acu-ADHD

Acu-ADHD ™ is a treatment that includes Magnotherapy for treatment of ADD/ADHD. Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder are both serious conditions affecting thousands of individuals and families. Characterized by distractibility, impulsivity and restlessness or hyperactivity, a syndrome found in both children and adults.

Magnotherapy is the practice of placing small magnets in very specific Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture points on each ear. The best case scenario is to compliment the Acu-ADHD ™ treatment by using Acupuncture Detoxification (AcuDetox™) where 5 needles are inserted into various points on each ear.

Auricular Therapy is applied if the child feels comfortable with needle insertion. Only a slight prick is felt, after which relaxation, calmness and balancing is experienced. Should a child not want the needling technique, gold magnets are easily applied with the same outcome, with a longer application required.

Treatment is applied once a week (needling and magnets or just magnets) over a 5 month period. The magnets assist in balancing the polarity of the left and right hemispheres of the brain. That is they keep the brain chemistry and electrical function stable.

The Cause of ADD

People with ADHD have less activity in areas of the brain that control attention. They may also have imbalances in brain chemicals called neurotransmitters.

Most ADD/ADHD is caused by toxicity. Studies have also linked ADHD to prenatal exposure to cigarettes and alcohol. Unfortunately, a half to two thirds of our children appear to have these learning disabilities and usually, they are treated with Ritalin and sometimes even given psychiatric counseling.

It is important to notice that most ADD cases are simply not ADD. Each proposed case of Add or ADHD must be properly investigated.
